A 33-year-old bank employee jumped to his death from the balcony of his eighth floor apartment at Oberoi Woods in Goregaon (East) last evening. Vishal Gambhir, from Delhi, was staying in the flat provided by his bank after he came to the city a few months ago.

Senior Inspector Lakshman Tompe of Aarey police station said that at 3 pm Gambhir returned from the bank and at 6.15 pm, he received a call from his office following which he killed himself.

"We have not found any suicide note so we cannot confirm the reason behind the suicide. Gambhir stayed alone in the city," said Tompe.

The police have registered a case of unnatural death and informed Gambhir's family about the incident. Gambhir was going through a divorce and the police suspect that he might have been depressed.
