Learn the Japanese art of kokedamas at this workshop
Kokedama
Kokedama, which is Japanese for ‘moss ball’, is an earthen ball composed of soil and moss. It is used to house ornamental plants and can be placed on any surface within your home or in your garden, or wrapped in wire and suspended from hooks. In addition to being visually attractive, kokedamas also save a lot of space and are low on maintenance.
An online workshop, conducted by Deepti Pitre, will teach you the basics of the craft. She’ll also share her tips and tricks, the science of how kokedamas work, the types of soil to use, and her design suggestions. Further, you’ll be guided on how to select the most appropriate plants to create kokedamas. You don’t need any prior gardening experience to sign up and can order your materials directly from the organisers.
