What does the weekend look like for you? For us, it’s shopping at The Vintage Garden’s (TVG) sale opening this Friday at their 100-year-old Patkar Bungalow on Bandra’s Turner Road. It’ll be three days of browsing through a collection of lifestyle, clothing, jewellery and cosmetic brands. Here are some of our favourite finds.
Get an accessory upgrade with jewellery from Delhi-based Paperjewelz, which has a statement piece for any ‘fit’. The products (under Rs 200 to Rs 4,000) are made entirely from recyclable material like waste paper and glass beads. Paperjewelz was founded in 1992 by Vrinda Gokhale, who has been creating sustainable fashion much before it was cool. Yearning to add to your make-up stash? Don’t miss Kiro, a brand that prides itself on vegan, cruelty-free and paraben-free beauty products (Rs 800 onwards).

If you’re looking for sustainable luxury home décor made from natural stones, try Paarkhi. Each piece is handcrafted and one-of-a-kind that will help you re-imagine your home (Rs 400 onwards). For a reminder that summers in the city aren’t kind on the olfactory scale, get a mini travel-size perfume from Naso (Rs ,000 onwards for 20 ml).

Like preceding TVG exhibitions, this one has something for every customer. Love The World Today offers clothes and accessories for newborns, children up to eight years (Rs 800 to Rs 3,000), and apparel for mums (R2,500 onwards for kurtas). If you’re looking to add statement, colour-block, playful, contemporary, minimalist and relaxed glamour, and casual bohemian looks to your wardrobe, you’ll find it here. We’re talking about functional modern wear by Whim, eclectic prints by Yam, natural fabrics and edgy contemporary looks from Strange Shrew, timeless pieces by Inca, nightwear by Lagom, and more.

Founder of TVG, Aarti Patkar, tells us that the exhibition includes products with a good sense of design and material that step away from their commercial, mass-produced counterparts. This means that while these brands pack quality products, many of them are in a higher price range. Before including any brand or product in the showcase, Patkar says, “I have to believe in it and be willing to buy it myself.”
On April 8, 9 and 10
Time 4 pm to 8 pm (Friday); 11 am to 8 pm (Saturday and Sunday)
At The Vintage Garden, Turner Road, Bandra West.
