Confessing that she is not a fan of complicated and depressing books, she said, "It’s important for me that a book is easy reading. I’ve read many award-winning authors and found their books boring."

Kajol also braved questions about tolerance and women’s empowerment. "It’s very important for public personalities to speak up and be aware of what we are saying," she said. "The film industry is very accepting of people from all backgrounds, caste, religion or status."
