The film, made for Indian fashion designers Falguni and Shane Peacock, will be screened at the La Jolla Fashion Film Festival, USA, followed by the presentation of the IFFA. The awards will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla, California on July 26.

“In India, the fashion film industry is very nascent, and brands are not keen on making it, but I was toiling with this idea for some time. A little while ago, about three years, when I was in London, I met Shane Peacock and suggested making a fashion film. He liked it and we went ahead with The Long Show,” says Bawa.

He shares that the organisers of the event had seen his work and hence invited him to share his oeuvre. “I had sent four films, and this one got shortlisted,” informs the photographer, who is the first Indian photographer /filmmaker to be invited and nominated at these awards.

Bawa also reveals that apart from everything else, music is an integral part of his film, which took three months to be helmed. “Gaurav Chatterjee worked on the music with a brief from me. It is a mix of Indian and western influences and I guess, it’s the music that stood out among other entries,” he shares.
