Being a multi-lingual playback singer, Hariharan is known for his versatility as he developed a love for Ghazals in his teens, inspired mostly by the music of Pakistani artiste Mehdi Hassan. Around 20 years back, he had released the successful album, Hazir, where he had paired with Hussain; the duo created several soulful Ghazals.

To take that journey further, they decided to come with a sequel to the album, titled Hazir 2. At this concert, the duo intend to render a live version of the album and bring back the success the album had received, in order to re-infuse interest in this genre. The event has been organised by Banyan Tree, the team behind musical performances such as Barkha Ritu and Ruhaniyat.
