The police seized her mobile phones, some diaries, medicines, and other personal items from the rented flat and registered an accidental death report. Later, they shifted her body for an autopsy which was conducted at the BMC’s Siddharth Hospital in Goregaon.

Despite efforts to contact her family, no one came forward. Consequently, the police performed her last rites on Sunday with the assistance of the Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO, which handles the cremation of unclaimed bodies in the city. “We spoke to her family. They had returned to their native place two weeks ago. The investigation is underway,” an officer told Mid-day.com.

All Indian Cine Workers Association said the cases of suicides highlight a "serious issue" within the Bollywood and broader Indian film industry. The Association has written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to conduct a thorough investigation into the suicide case. "This unfortunate incident underscores a serious issue within the Bollywood and broader Indian film industry, where reports of suicides among actors and actresses are alarmingly frequent the government must investigate the underlying causes behind these recurring tragedies in the Indian film industry," the statement read. "It is crucial that the Investigation also consider the possibility of foul play and explore the case from a potential murder angle," the statement added.
