In December 2023, only months after Guns & Gulaabs premièred, Netflix announced that the crime comedy was renewed for a second season. Adarsh Gourav might be in the midst of a relentless schedule for Ridley Scott’s Alien, but he will return to India in a few months to step into the shoes of Jugnu for the next edition of Raj-DK’s web series that also stars Rajkummar Rao and Dulquer Salmaan. So, what does reprising a role entail? Gourav says he has a two-step process.

“The only show I have done a second season of is Hostel Daze. The starting point of any second season is watching the first edition over and over again. This helps you know the graph of the person you were at that time in the show. Also, I make notes in a diary for each character I play. So that’s my step two—to go back to those notes. It helps me understand the character more intimately,” he shares. The year promises to be significant for the actor on the personal front as well, as he has bought a new home.
