The show, produced by Optimystix, is aired on Sony Entertainment Television. A reality-based, stand-up comedy, it has been bringing the countries' TV celebrities to perform with professional comedian partners on a competitive and challenging stage since June 16, 2007.

Its first season was judged by Archana Puran Singh, Satish Shah and Johny Lever, while Shekar Suman and Rohit Shetty are among the many celebrity judges who have also judged it.

The 14th season - 'Kahani Comedy Circus Ki', started on January 7, 2012 with Archana and Sohail Khan taking the judges' seat. Archana, whose perfect comic timing has been seen in films and TV shows galore, has been a part of the show since its inception.
