The theatrical release of Gerard Butler-starrer 'Geostorm' has been pushed back by nearly three months.

The film, which marks the feature directorial debut of veteran writer-producer Dean Devlin, will not hit theatres on October 2016 as planned, but in January 2017, the beginning of the lucrative Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.
The project was developed independently by David Ellison's Skydance Productions before Warner Bros. came on board.
It follows a satellite designer who heads into space to prevent climate-controlling satellites from creating a man-made storm when he and his estranged brother hear of a plot to assassinate the Prez.
