Mannara was formerly known as Barbie Handa. She is Priyanka and Parineeti's aunt's daughter. She has acted in South films. Mannara starred in the Telugu film Rouge (2017) directed by Puri Jagannadh, Anubhav Sinha's Zid (2014), Prema Geema Jantha Nai (2014), Jakkanna (2016), Thikka (2016) and Sita (2019).

Before Bigg Boss 17, Mannara made headlines for a kissing controversy. At the promotional event of Thiragabadara Saami, she was forcibly kissed on her cheeks by the director, AS Ravi Kumar. The video went viral and netizens slammed him. 

When the paparazzi asked her about the incident at the airport, Mannara said, "Whatever news is getting viral, I think the director loved my work in the film. They keep calling me even when we are not shooting. I think he just got over excited. I was taken by surprise by the way the video picked up." She added, "My film is releasing. It is a good film and I am so looking forward to its release. Whatever the incident was, he just did out of excitement. There are times when people get excited and don't realise what they are doing.
