Instead of taking a break after wrapping up Ek Villain Returns, Arjun Kapoor has dived headlong into his next. The actor has begun prepping for Ajay Bahl’s The Lady Killer which goes on floor in the first week of April. He will soon head to north India for a month-long schedule. “Arjun has been devoting a few hours every day to prepare for his character,” reveals a source. The movie sees him play a small town playboy falling in love with a self-destructive beauty.

For nearly 25 years, Salman Khan has been making appearances in courts in the blackbuck poaching case. On Monday, the Rajasthan High Court accepted his plea to hear the three petitions related to the case. This comes after the actor had filed a petition in the Sessions Court to transfer the pending appeal to the HC. “After a brief hearing, Justice PS Bhati granted permission to transfer the two petitions to the High Court, where one petition by the state is already pending. Now, the hearing of all these cases will happen at one place, which will save valuable time,” Salman’s legal counsel was quoted as saying.

Ready for part two

Even before the release of Attack Part 1, actor-producer John Abraham has started gearing up for the second instalment, like he promised during the trailer launch of the first edition. “We have the script ready and the studio is on board,” says the actor, who got  Jayantilal Gada’s PEN Studios on board even before the first film, which also features Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh, hit theatres. While he accepts that he is no trade expert, John is confident that the film will take the story ahead. He also emphasised that the team wants to take the franchise forward.

It turns out that the Lahiris were developing a biopic on him, and had met some filmmakers weeks before the musician-singer passed away. In a recent interview, son Bappa Lahiri revealed that Bappi da wanted his favourite actor Ranveer Singh to play him on screen. While they have made significant progress in developing the script, Bappa said that they haven’t reached the stage where they can approach the Gully Boy actor.
