While many reality contestants have faded into oblivion, Meiyang Chang has been a strong exception. The cute dentist-singer-actor has just jumped back into the limelight with his surprise win in Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa 4. "The feeling sunk in yesterday morning after I was inundated with congratulatory messages all night. Now, I simply need a break," says Chang. He talks to CS about his win:

Sonny dearest
My family is over the moon. My mom, uncle, aunt and grandmother were present on the sets on the show. Sadly, dad couldn't make it as he was busy back home in Dhanbad. This victory is a matter of pride for them and that makes me very happy.

The new idol
After Indian Idol, I didn't have any work for six-eight months. It was a very frustrating period for me. Moreover, I wasn't in the right company, which further dented my morale. Thankfully, things came back on track after I returned as the host of Indian Idol.

Here today, gone tomorrow
Success in the TV industry doesn't depend on talent per se. I don't think any of us have any need or reason to be arrogant out here. As far as fan following is concerned, that varies with your success. More than female fans, I love my kiddie fans. They have supported me throughout and are 100 per cent genuine with their comments (smiles).
