After a year since news of a desi version of the Tom Crusie starrer Knight and Day made the rounds, it looks likely that the film will go on floor soon. Leading man Shahid Kapoor has apparently not only ensured that the film takes off, but is also said to be recommending Bipasha Basu’s name to play female lead.

Speaking on the film to be directed by Siddharth Raj Anand, our source says, “Although Shahid and Bipasha have worked together some years ago — in Mathew Matthan’s Shikhar — they not only became good friends early last year, but were also said to be dating.

While they’re believed to have broken up after the release of Mausam, it seems they remained friends. Shahid strongly recommended her name to Siddharth.”

Speaking about Shahid’s role in reviving the film, our source points out, “It has been reported that the Indian division of the Hollywood studio had signed on Siddharth to remake the original toplining Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.
