The appeal, filed by lawyer D Bharat Kumar, alleged that the Delhi High Court is not justified in "vacating the stay on the television telecast of the film" without discussing the "arguments advanced" and documentary evidence.

"The proposed telecast of film 'Grand Masti' on television squarely violates the Programme Code enshrined under the Cable Television Network (Regulation) Act, 1995 and the Rules made thereunder "And given the film's pervasive adult sexual content, the proposed universal telecast on television will have adverse impact on the impressionable minds of children and adolescents," the plea alleged.
