Coldplay is out with a new song, and once again we know why they are the biggest band in the world—it’s because they knew we needed this. A happy song to take us through! Let’s make it a Coldplay week, should we?

1 Higher Power: It feels like Coldplay took a cue from the 90s hit, A-ha’s Take on me, but whatever it is, it made us feel lighter, almost like we could fly in the sky if we wanted to. Now, in this gloom and doom, isn’t that amazing? As Chris Martin sings, “I am so happy I am alive”. Same, Chris, same.
2 Hurts Like Heaven from Mylo Xyloto: I often listen to this song for the way it makes me feel like I am in some psychedelic pink pop song, floating. It’s hectic and mad in the best way! And for this line, “You use your heart as a weapon, and it hurts like heaven”. Sigh.
3 The Hardest Part: “And the hardest part was letting go, not taking part.” Coldplay even makes a heart break sound so beautiful. They also make you realise the importance of being creative when you need it most—when you are in pain.
