London: Madison Keys, the 19-year-old American, withdrew from the tournament yesterday, having suffered a thigh injury in her third round clash against Yaroslava Shvedova.

Keys made her debut at Wimbledon last year and had bowed out in the third round then. Her match, which began on Saturday, was held back until Monday due to rain. After pulling out, Keys said: "It is not a serious injury and I should get better in a matter of a few days."
