Advani, Mehta to clash in Asian snooker final

India's Pankaj Advani and national champion Aditya Mehta entered the final of the Asian Snooker Championship here on Saturday to set up an intriguing title clash.
In the semi-finals, Advani, the 26-year old Bangalorean, overcame Thailand’s Noppon Saengkham 6-4.

On the other hand, Mehta who hails from Mumbai and is also 26 years old created one of the the tournament’s biggest upsets when he stunned reigning IBSF world champion Hossain Vafaei Ayouri of Iran 6-3.

Earlier in the day, Advani defeated Iran’s Ehsan Heydari 5-0 while Mehta beat Afghan veteran Saleh Ahmed 5-2 in the quarter-finals.
