Meanwhile, former MCA managing committee member Ravi Mandrekar felt seats meant for public couldn’t be compromised. He told mid-day: “Currently, each MCA member gets four complimentary passes—two each at the MCA Pavilion and Vithal Divecha Pavilion—for any international match.

“[Justice RM] Lodha Committee had imposed a limit on associations distributing more free passes and the reason for it was to make more tickets available to the general public. If you are giving more passes to one company, how will they give it to the public? It’s like dishonouring the Lodha Committee’s report which was accepted by the Supreme Court.”
