Barcelona's Messi returns to training

Barcelona were given a huge boost yesterday as Argentine superstar Lionel Messi returned to training ahead of next week's Champions League semi-final first-leg at Bayern Munich.

The four-time world player of the year has struggled with a right thigh injury that limited his appearance in the quarter-final to an inspirational second-half cameo during the second leg elimination of Paris Saint-Germain.

“The big news about Thursday’s training was Leo Messi,” read a statement on the club website.
