Rochelle Rao, Keith Sequeira dig out trash from Mumbai’s Juhu beach
World Environment Day 2024: Rochelle Rao and Keith Sequeira put on their gloves and dug out all the trash trapped in the sand at Mumbai’s Juhu beach, while their baby Josephine observed from afar. Rochelle’s frown and concern were visible as she pointed out the beautiful shells and the heaps of plastic around asking which of the two belonged there. “The beach is where our heart is. When I see the beach in this state, in my city, I feel like it`s 100 percent my responsibility to do something about it. It`s 10 minutes away from my house and it`s a few hours of my time. So, this is close to my heart,” she said. Watch the video for more.
Delhi Air Pollution: Delhi govt. brings back Odd-Even post-Diwali
The odd-even scheme in Delhi is about to make a comeback. In Delhi, the air quality is in the `Severe` category as per the Central Pollution Control Board. To tackle the Delhi air pollution, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on November 06 announced the implementation of the Odd-Even scheme. The Odd-Even scheme will be applicable for one week from 13th to 20th November. Cars whose number plates end with odd numbers – 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 – will be allowed to ply on odd-numbered dates. On the other hand, vehicles whose number plates end with even numbers – 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 – will be allowed to ply on even-numbered dates. Stubble burning in the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana is credited for creating smog in Delhi.
