Delhi-NCR Rain: Massive waterlogging in Delhi after incessant rainfall
Ahead of the official arrival of Monsoons, Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region) received incessant rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning beginning in the early hours of June 28. Earlier, parts of Delhi received spells of heavy rainfall, bringing much-needed respite from the sweltering heat. Several areas in and around the capital are waterlogged creating traffic disruptions in the region. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted the weather for the next seven days in Delhi, predicting generally cloudy skies and varying intensities of rain. As predicted by IMD for June 28, the forecast includes light to moderate rain or thunderstorms.
Strong tremors felt across North India as 6.2 magnitude earthquake hits Nepal
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter Scale hit Nepal at 2:51 pm today, according National Centre for Seismology. Tremors were felt across Delhi-NCR and parts of North India. The seismic event, which lasted for more than 40 seconds, prompted people to quickly exit their homes in response to the intense shaking.
