Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on April 14 inaugurated the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar on his 132nd birth anniversary. He also paid floral tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar. Minister of State for Social Justice, Ramdas Athawale was also present during the inauguration. Meanwhile NCP’s Supriya Sule paid tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar at Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai.

`Shelf Life` is a series that explores the reading culture in Mumbai. This week, we look we look at how the Next Page library, run by the Next Page Community Foundation at Govandi’s Shivaji Nagar is providing a space for children to develop a habit for reading and explore books of different genres. Managed by young members of the community, the library offers accessibility and exposure to literature from India and abroad to neighbourhood kids, often coming from non-privileged socio-economic backgrounds.
