Police said the woman sustained injuries on her neck and hand, and the accused stabbed Chaudhary and fled. Meanwhile, his girlfriend took a taxi to Bhabha hospital, they added. A police officer said, “At 3 am, we received information from Bhabha hospital about the incident and we rushed to the beach and found a body. We immediately rushed him to Sion hospital where he was declared dead before admission.”

Police sources said, “We have found out that both were drug addicts and consumed drugs frequently. But Chaudhary’s murder is still a mystery.” Chaudhary’s mother Jannatunisha told mid-day, “We suspect that his girlfriend, who is addicted to drugs, killed him. Police should investigate it. Her parents had thrown her out of the house two months back and she hasn’t been back there since. She would carry a knife and a blade on her daily.”

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mahim Division, Arundhati Rane said, “As per the victim’s complaint, we have registered a case under Sections 302 (murder) 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 (common intention) of IPC. We are checking all the CCTV cameras for some more information on the movement of people towards the crime spot. Several teams have been formed to track the attackers.
