“We couldn’t connect with our customers earlier,” says Nihareeka Mhatre, founder of handmade crystal jewellery and home décor brand Gaze and Moo, about the lull that she had experienced during the past 20 months in terms of physically showcasing her products. She’s the one who conceived the idea of this event, and she tells us there are 13 indie platforms, including hers, that she’s curated.

These are all small businesses that are trying to find their feet now that we all seem to be back on our feet again. “It’s an interesting time,” Mhatre says about this period of economic resurrection. We have returned to face-to-face interactions, be it in office or at friends’ houses, or at a physical pop-up where sellers and buyers interact before a purchase. There’s no need to rely purely on e-commerce anymore. This offline shopping event at Adagio is proof of that.
