A magnetic toran celebrates stained glass patterns from the historic railway terminus

Each time we have walked down Platform Number 1 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT, formerly Victoria Terminus), among the many elements of its fine architecture, the stunning stained glass skylights would catch our attention. Later, we read about the minute detail to attention that architect FW Stevens took as he built every inch of this world-famous railway terminus. Over the years, the UNESCO World Heritage Site’s grand designs celebrating both Gothic splendour and Indian craftsmanship would intrigue and engage in equal measure.
These patterns are now available in a miniature version, thanks to some innovative thinking by the folks at Froggmag, who’ve created magnetic clips that you can clip on twine and let your creative mind do the rest. You could personalise it in several ways — simply pin it on your soft board, nail it into a wall, string up your photos, notes, or clip it together as a cool piece of historic décor. The box comes with five clips, 42” twine and two pins. Torans are supposed to bring good luck so if you believe in it or are a heritage nut like this writer, you might just be on the right track (pun intended) to great new beginnings.
