One of Mumbai’s oldest cultural landmarks, Royal Opera House has launched several path-breaking plays and beloved actors, including Zohra Sehgal and Prithviraj Kapoor. You can learn about the history of this iconic stage that was launched in 1916 with an informative talk featuring thespian Kunal Kapoor, actor Utkarsh Mazumdar and playwright-director Ramu Ramanathan.
The talk will also touch upon the significance of theatre to Mumbai’s social fabric as well as the intertwining of contemporary theatre’s history with classy kothas of the time, and how the history of such establishments affects the contemporary theatre experience.
