Sharmin, who had a different point of view, interrupted stating, "I think perfectionist is a very basic word to describe Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It’s the kind of a word that an outsider who has never worked with him, been on his set, and seen the kind of director that he is will use that. He is much more than that. He adapts to change very well. He keeps challenging through different things. It is not about being perfect. He looks for rawness, magic, spontaneity. If he was only a perfectionist he would not treat spontaneity the way he does."

Sharmin’s comment did not go well with netizens after the clip went viral on social media. One user wrote on X, “Sharmin wtf is wrong with you girl? Sanjeeda was being respectful towards him, she used the word "perfectionist" for some obvious reasons, you just need to calm tf down.”

“Saying this about Sanjeeda Sheikh who’s been a huge star on television for years and when Sharmin hasn’t even begun her career…….unreal arrogance man. Can you imagine the outrage (and deservedly so) there’d be if Jahnvi or Ananya had said something like this?” added another.
