That night, when everyone gathers on the dinner table, Anupamaa turns it into a candle light dinner which is immensely liked by everyone, esp. Anuj. Seeing the various dishes that Anupamaa had made, Barkhaa, in a very concerned tone, tells her to take the help of house workers in case she feels that the amount of work has increased. As always, the first to react was Baa, who thinks that Barkhaa was hinting about her indirectly to Anupamaa. As always, the calm, cool and composed Anuj smiles away through the ‘could-have-been’ volatile situation.

The next morning, baa picks up a verbal fight with Barkhaa while she is praying to God. Barkhaa, on the other hand, offers a ‘tit-for-tat’ attitude for Baa. Seeing the duo fighting, Anupamaa puts on her earphones and starts practicing for the dance programme. Seeing Anupamaa’s presence of mind makes Anuj feel extremely proud of her.

When Anu sees Anupamaa not being present there, she asks her father Anuj about her mother Anupamaa. Anuj, in turn, asks Barkhaa, who tells him that Anupamaa is on her way. Hearing that, Anuj is shocked to know that Anupamaa has not yet reached the venue. Back home, just as Anupamaa is ready to leave for the hall, she gets badly hurt in her leg in the kitchen.
