Fashion choreographer Lubna Adams is gearing up for a show for the benefit of Mijwan, a society for the welfare of chikankari workers organised by Shabhanau00a0Azmi on December 15.

Like the fashion shows that she's arranged in the past, she expects this one to be flawless too. She tells CS all that goes behind planning a super show:

An eye for detail

For starters, you need to look into the details very closely. From the music selection, to the stage and set design, light requirements to the look of the collection you need to be in control.

It is also important to keep in mind the understanding of the clothes line, the designers mindset and your audience.

Model choice

Whenever I choose models, I make sure that I select them according to the feel of the clothes line. I don't entertain any personal favourites.



I make sure that the models I select meet the minimum requirement of 5.8 and a half inch of height, have a lean body and the right attitude.

Cake walk

I've never had a crisis situation throughout my whole career. If you have been in the industry for a really long time you know how things work and so there are no last minute crisis. That's why I've never needed to prepare for back ups.

Some of the models that I find great to work with are Diana Penty, Lisa Hayden, Jyotsna, Surelee Joseph, Nitin Gupta, Inder Wadhwa, Freddie, Asif Azim, to name a few.

Seeing the change

From the time I started my career till now, the fashion industry has changed drastically. It has become more professional and at the same time, indifferent too.

The pros are that there are specialised people to handle everything from lights, music to makeup. As a result, the shows are always great because there are more people working on them.

As far as the models are concerned the industry has become stricter. If you are good then you stay, if not, you're written-off in no time.
